My parents haven’t completely shot the idea down... It looks absolutely terrible, but apparently the drivetrain is good.
Edit: It’s a rustbucket.

It’s a couple of hours away, and I’m waiting for the green light from my parents. I have emailed the seller though. It’s been sitting for a while, so it’s a project.

I expect full oppo review if acquired, I hope you know this is in fact part of the mandatory process of owning a Subaru Brat.

I’ve owned one before, but I contacted the seller and he was super honest about it not being salvageable. He said it’s only good for parts only, as it has extreme rust issues.

Rust will also be a concern if this is one of the original Brats. I had one and loved it, but looking down and seeing the road as it goes along below you is a strange, strange feeling...also more than a little dangerous.

It’s an ‘82, but I contacted the seller, it’s a no go. It’s a rust bucket, and I was looking for a small project. I’ll own another eventually. I regret very much that we had to rid of our ‘78 that we had before, as it was rock solid.

Mine was a ‘78 rust bucket I bought on a salvage title for $400. I gave it a warriors death and a viking’s funeral. I miss that little beast.

Mine was one my Dad bought for $275 and gave it me because he felt bad that I was one of the few kids without a 4wheeler and he wanted me to learn to drive before I got on the road(we lived on 80 acres). It ran and had
ONE
spot of rust, and that wasn’t even rot. We tripled our money on it because we needed to eat. I miss that damn thing nearly every day, and I’d probably still be driving the ugly old thing, and enjoying every moment of it. But I probably wouldn’t have gotten my 4Runner, and I quite enjoy having something that I don’t have to worry about for the most part. It’s also pretty fun, especially since it’s survived many a warriors death, and kept on pulling through.
